Assistant Director / Head of Children's Services, Bacon Free Library (Natick)
The Bacon Free Library seeks a dynamic and collaborative Assistant Director, who also serves as Head of Children's Services. This is a 32-hour-per-week benefited position that includes some evening and weekend hours.
Located in a historic building with beautiful grounds, the Bacon Free Library offers more than 200 children's programs annually. The library operates 45 hours per week and is staffed by a full-time Director and six part-time employees.
Position Overview
The Assistant Director supports the Library Director in both administrative and professional functions, including scheduling, payroll, and invoice processing. This role helps oversee daily library operations and assumes full responsibility in the Director's absence.
In their role as Head of Children's Services, the Assistant Director leads the planning, development, and delivery of programs and services for children and families, including outreach, collection development, and community engagement.
The successful candidate will have a strong customer service background with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, and possess the ability to work well in a team environment. Previous library experience, bilingual abilities, and knowledge of Sierra ILS software is preferred.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program preferred Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in children's services strongly preferred Experience in programming, collection development, and outreach for youth Full/Part Time
