Job Description
Responsible for supervision of library clerical staff and maintaining good customer service relations with patrons. Work is performed under the direction of the Branch Manager and Central Library Manager of Borrower's Services. Supervision is exercised over clerical employees. Interacts with patrons while promoting satisfaction in checking out library materials and information. Implements policies and procedures for the circulation desk. Answers calls that pertain to circulation issues along with checking the shelves missing items. Plans and assigns tasks related to clerical and training procedures. Updates staff on new circulation procedures. Prepares monthly statistics for Branch Manager. Ability to work nights and weekends. Performs other related duties as assigned. Ability to interact successfully with staff and the public. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of public library policy, services, practices, plans and problems. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends. High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in libraries related to library policies and procedures, computer use, and customer service.
