Job Description

The Walter T. A. Hansen Memorial Library in Mars Hill is looking to hire an energetic, enthusiastic, and community-minded library assistant. Located just off Rt. 1, the Hansen library serves the communities of Mars Hill, Blaine, Bridgewater, and E & D Plantation through weekly programming, technology services, and an ever-growing selection of books. The right person will enjoy being an active part of the communities we serve, whether that's corralling groups of kids as they arrive at the library, helping people unfamiliar with technology use the library's computers and printers, or recommending your favorite books to our patrons.
Responsibilities Include:
Providing friendly, kind, customer service to people of all backgrounds and needs Using the library's computer system to manage patrons, check books in and out, and order materials from other Maine libraries Assisting with library programming (story hour, craft nights, book clubs, etc) Light office cleaning and maintenance (vacuuming, washing windows, dusting) We are hoping to hire someone who: Has experience working with people all ages, from children to seniors Enjoys doing simple crafts Is comfortable working with the general public Is comfortable doing basic tasks on a computer (email, typing, etc) Is able to work in a sometimes quiet, sometimes noisy environment Is able to frequently bend, lift, and reach overhead
Benefits:
