Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The library assistant provides part-time (18 hours/week) clerical support for the Library and Experiential Learning Commons, works with library technology and processing, and provides friendly customer service at the service desk in J.A. Jones Library.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Training:
? Some college preferred ? Experience with clerical and secretarial work required; ? Library experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
? Good word processing, spreadsheet, calendar, and database ability; ? General knowledge of library processes and functions; ? Strong verbal and written communication skills; ? Time management and organizational ability.
Physical Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Provide general and library office support, including calendaring, signage, and inventory management; ? Greet and assist faculty, staff, students and community by phone, email, and in person; ? Manage departmental files in both paper and electronic formats; ? Staff public service desk and assist patrons, as needed.
