Job Description

Terms of Employment:
Nine (9) months, academic school year
Education:
Associates (or higher) degree (attach transcript in attachment section) or completion of two years (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education. (attach transcript in attachment section). Coursework or degree in education preferred.
Qualifications:
Basic academic and computer skills, ability to work well with students, excellent human relations and communications skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Assist the library/media specialist with library activities. Assist the library/media specialist with clerical duties. Work with students individually or in groups. Assist teachers and staff with materials, media, and research. Order and distribute instructional materials. Assist the library media specialist with collection maintenance. Assist patrons with the use of media and technology. Perform responsibilities as assigned by the library/media specialist or building principal.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Evaluation:
Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.
