To perform a range of tasks to support the Access Services an/or Technical Services Department at the Regina Library.

Candidate must be a current graduate student at Rivier University, enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits per semester, through both terms of each semester, with a graduation date of May 2027 or later. Ca ndidate must be willing to work evening and late-night hours Duties and Responsibilities Graduate Student Employees may support library operations in one of two positions. Please indicate on your application which position is of interest to you. Access Services Support Check in/out circulating and reserve materials in all formats. Provide patrons with a wide variety of information assistance concerning library services and policies. Provide basic reference assistance, referring complex reference questions to daytime reference staff. Assist patrons with the basic use of computers, printers, copiers, scanners, etc. and Microsoft Office products. Book library items and rooms. Model excellent customer service skills for the student workers. Coordinate with the designated library staff to accomplish routine circulation tasks, including sorting returned items, shelving returned items, and maintaining stack areas by shelf reading, straightening, or shifting shelves in circulating collections. Assist with maintaining the appearance of the Regina Library circulation area. Be responsible for building closing procedures at the designated time. Perform building checks inside and outside as scheduled, reporting any maintenance issues to the Library Director. Assist with other tasks and projects as requested by library staff. Technical Services Support Perform copy cataloging tasks by searching library databases for cataloging records, download records for processing, and export records into the library online catalog to assist with copy cataloging. Maintain statistical records. Facilitate batch processing of books and materials, update records in the library online catalog including data entry, adding, deleting, and transferring items record locations. Work on projects such as database cleanup, data entry, and data verification. Search local catalog databases for holdings information, circulation histories, duplicate copies, authority control information, and data verification. Process books for circulation by generating and affixing labels, covering materials, and adding security strips as required. Shelve books for Access Services as needed. Perform serials tasks such as, check in serials (journals), stamp, add security tape, and shelve as needed. Assist with interlibrary loan tasks as needed. Assist with other tasks and projects as requested by library staff. Qualifications Must be a current graduate student at Rivier University, enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits per semester, through both terms of each semester, with a graduation date of May 2027 or later. Excellent attention-to-detail skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact courteously with library patrons. Ability to exercise sound discretion when administering library policies. Must be well organized and able to meet multiple demands.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger and grasp, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop and crouch. Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
