Part-time Library Assistant

Job Summary Join our team as a Part-time Library Assistant, where your enthusiasm and customer service skills will help create a welcoming environment for all visitors. In this role, you will support daily library operations, assist patrons with their needs, and ensure the smooth management of library resources. Responsibilities Greet visitors warmly and provide excellent customer service to address their inquiries and assist with library services Provide technology instruction to patrons of all ages Troubleshoot basic computer software issues related to library systems and provide guidance on software usage Pack and unpack library materials for delivery Shelve library materials when necessary Requirements High School degree required; BA/BS preferred Strong computer skills with proficiency in using databases, software troubleshooting, and data entry applications Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences Ability to kneel, crouch, stand on a step stool, lift a minimum of 35 lbs and tolerate moderate dust exposure Resident of New Jersey Previous experience working in a BCCLS library or with the

LEAP ILS

is a plus but not required; training will be provided

Schedule:

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, at least one of which will be an evening shift, and every 3rd Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. $20/hour Union position Generous paid vacation, personal and sick leave No phone calls or visits, please.

Pay:
