Job Description
The Galion Public Library will be taking applications for one part-time, Student Shelver position. The Shelver will begin work as soon as possible. This is a minimum wage position. Successful applicants will work 9-15 hours per week throughout the year, not just summer, and will need to work evenings and Saturdays. The hours will be from 4:15 to 7:15PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and every other Saturday from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This position is supervised at all times. Although the main function of the position is to re-shelve books and put away other library items, the successful applicant will help at the Circulation Desk and have other duties as well. Successful applicants will need to stand on their feet for short periods and be able to reach and lift to put books away. Successful applicants will also need to have good people skills for working with the public. The Library will be giving a short test to cover alphabetizing ability and other library related skills before the interviews. Please come to the library to pick up an application.
