Summer Youth Services Assistant Intern - Bluffton

Description The goal of this internship is to support the Youth Services staff at Bluffton Branch Library with the annual Summer Reading program and related activities and events. The selected intern will also have the opportunity to participate in outreach events and help with the daily operations of the Library as needed. Examples of Duties The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Assist with Summer programs and related activities as needed, including setup, materials preparation, crowd control, and cleanup. Assist patrons in use of public computers, Wi-Fi, and other library technology. Assist circulation staff with tasks such as checking in materials, preparing items for transit, and pulling requested items Help promote Beaufort County Library services and resources at outreach events and activities Performs related work as assigned. Typical Qualifications Must be 16 years or older and currently attending high school or higher education. Supplemental Information All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
