Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle/High School Librarian Media Specialist for a full-time, school-based opportunity in Fairfax, South Carolina for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the opportunity to foster a love of reading, support student achievement, and collaborate with educators to promote information literacy and technology integration across the curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and maintain the school library media center and its resources Develop and deliver engaging library and information literacy instruction for middle and high school students Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and technology into classroom instruction Promote reading, research, and digital citizenship through library programs and activities Assist students and staff in locating, evaluating, and utilizing print and digital resources Maintain library collections, technology, and circulation systems Support instructional technology initiatives and professional development for staff as needed Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district and state library standards

POSITION DETAILS

Full-time position (40 hours per week) 2026-2027 school year School-based setting Middle and high school assignment On-site position

QUALIFICATIONS

Active South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) certification with a Media Specialist/Librarian endorsement, or eligibility to obtain a reciprocal South Carolina license Strong knowledge of library science, educational technology, and information literacy Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills Previous school library experience preferred

EDUCATION

Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or Library Information Science required SKILLS Library media management Information literacy instruction Educational technology integration Collaboration and communication Organization and resource management Student engagement and instructional support
