AM Central Description Benefits Questions Duties and Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Performs any or all of the following tasks: checks out books; maintains appropriate record of borrower and date book is to be returned. Responsible for records indicating return of the above items including re-shelving and minor repairs; answers phones; provides information and assistance to the public on library hours, policy, correct use of card catalog, copy machine, locations of books; alphabetizes card catalog and patron's file; collects monies for fines, lost books, and reserves; types library card applications and overdue notices; prepares statistical reports and provides other clerical and library functions as requested.

Must be available to work the schedule according to library hours.
Minimum Essential Qualifications Knowledge:
Knowledge of library techniques and procedures.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to operate equipment including cash register, adding machine, typewriter, and computer; ability to communicate with the public in a tactful and effective manner.
Physical Requirements:
Constantly sees, stands and walks; frequently cleans, climbs, sits, squats, stoops, twists body and carries, lifts, pulls or pushes objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; infrequently calculates, crawls, sorts, writes by hand or holds objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Education/Experience:
Graduation from high school diploma or high school equivalency with some basic experience in typing. Other This position requires 100% onsite work. Data entry and library skill test administered.
