Job Duties and Responsibilities Managing patron accounts Assisting patrons through the check-in and check-out process Providing a general overview of the library resources, both physical and digital Aiding in the necessary prep and execution of library events Creating themed book displays Providing reader's advisory Answering reference questions Basic filing and organizing Shelving books and materials utilizing the Library of Congress Classification System Performing basic troubleshooting for library hardware/software Answering technological questions regarding library services Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Be enrolled at least part-time for the duration of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent customer service skills; knowledge of basic computer software such as Microsoft Office; experience in basic computer troubleshooting; strong organizational skills; the ability to multitask as well as carry out tasks with limited supervision; and a willingness to learn. Previous library experience preferred, but not required.
Supplemental Information Other Duties:
Working on Fridays and some evenings for events may be required.
