JOB DESCRIPTION
To assist Librarians with general library functioning and assist students and teachers in library usage. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process new books Access and clear fines and lost library books Overdue notices Report Card holds Laminating Train, supervise and grade student aides Train and supervise adult volunteers Withdraw students Keep daily statistics on computer Type book, supply and periodical orders Type bindery orders Type bibliographies on computer Type letters for guest author, memorial and thank you notes Type appreciation certificates Maintain time machines Pull books for displays and for teachers Take back money box at the end of each day Type monthly schedules on computer Type hold list of students who have over-dues Type book orders on computer Assist in Teacher Resource Center Get and send out get well cards Assist in inventory of books, and hardware in library and departments Clean and straighten AV room Collect and roll money for Kodak copier Check library record on students withdrawing Take overdue book fines and lost book money Type purchase orders, book orders, lists, letters, and forms File catalog cards in card catalog Check card catalog - book orders Answer phone and take messages Clean and straighten offices Make change for students and teachers Attend workshops for the computer and the library in general Repair books Check in and out books Inventory books Attend computer workshops Miscellaneous computer work Assist in setting school goals Type computer manuals Other duties as assigned Regular attendance Maintain confidentiality
EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of experience in a library
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent communication skills Good computer skills Knowledge of AV equipment Excellent organizational skills Ability to work well with children

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, bending, and stooping. Frequent sitting and typing. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged used of computer.
