We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-service-oriented Library Assistant to join our team. This position is responsible for providing front desk support, assisting library patrons, and maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patrons and provide assistance with locating books, using computers, and accessing library services Check materials in and out using the library system Answer phones and respond to general inquiries Manage patron accounts Ensure materials are organized and easy to find Assist with library events, programs, and displays Maintain a clean and orderly front desk and public space Help patrons with technology such as printers, copiers, and public computers Enforce library policies in a polite and professional manner
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a customer service or administrative role is desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using basic office software and computer applications. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor with a genuine passion for assisting others.
