Job Description

As a Library Intern, you will support library programs by undertaking one or more assigned activities and/or projects that require an intermediate degree of knowledge and skill. Under the close supervision and mentorship of professional staff, you will develop professional abilities in an administrative or technical specialty within a public service environment. Assists department staff with daily tasks such straightening library shelves; entering data into the computer; ensuring documents are completed and accurate; conducting and completing research; processing various items for the library's collection. Completes routine office duties by answering phones; transferring calls and taking messages; processing mail; filing; typing various correspondences; and maintaining office supplies. Provides customer service by mending various items from the library collection; assisting with receiving new materials; processing new materials for all library locations; maintaining periodicals. Completes special duties as assigned assisting with special collections and projects. Other duties as assigned. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Valid Texas Class C Driver's License. Must be available to work nights and days
