Come work in an awe-inspiring library with a team that excels in supporting the teaching and research mission of the University of Utah. The J. Willard Marriott Library seeks to recruit a student with advanced library and research skills that will enrich and strengthen our organization on high priority research and teaching projects. For the Library to be able to appropriately monitor hours worked, part-time employees are generally asked to restrict their work with the University of Utah to Library employment only, unless an exception is granted. Responsibilities Provide support for evidence synthesis reviews by locating the full-text of materials, requesting materials through interlibrary loan, and attaching full-text to EndNote libraries. Promote library resources and Open Education Resources (OERs) to students, staff, and faculty. Support library patrons (students, staff, and faculty) seeking assistance with finding, creating, and adapting Open Education Resources (OERs). Update online library curricular materials, including improving accessibility. Minimum Qualifications Must be a current University of Utah student enrolled 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. Preferences Experience with citation software such as EndNote, Mendeley, and/or Zotero. Experience with peer advising, peer mentoring, classroom teaching, and/or library instruction. Experience in using the Canvas LMS (Learning Management System) and/or LibGuides (Springshare). Good communication and time management skills. Special Instructions Summary For full consideration, all applicants are required to provide a copy of their Fall 2026 Weekly Course Schedule, as part of their resume or cover letter. Additional Information The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS"). Eligible new hires with prior URS service may elect to enroll in URS if they make the election before they become eligible for retirement (usually the first day of work). Contact Human Resources at (801) 581-7447 for information. Individuals who previously retired and are receiving monthly retirement benefits from URS are subject to URS' post-retirement rules and restrictions. This position may require the successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screen.
