Full-Time and Permanent; Non-Exempt; 6.5 Hours/Day; 186 Days/Year; 10 Months/Year;

HH General Responsibilities Performs journey level, library media assistant and general clerical duties in a library media center. Responsible for assisting the library media specialist in the operation of the library. Assists students and staff in the use of library media center resources. Education and Experience Requires a high school diploma, some college level course work, strong customer service and computer skills as well as progressive experience in library operations. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements. Essential Job Functions Operates a computer system for circulating materials. Assists students and staff in the use of library media center materials and services. Monitors students and assists with instructional tasks. Works collaboratively and maintains positive working relationships with stakeholders. Greets visitors, answers telephone, takes messages and arranges for meetings. Assists in a full range of tasks in a library utilizing a wide range of technology tools. Maintains records and generates computerized reports. Shelves books, materials and equipment. Assists with displays and bulletin boards. Laminates and repairs materials. Assists with inventory. Incumbents assigned to positions in this class receive instructions and close supervision on new assignments, while regular assignments are performed independently. Performs duties of media specialist as required and assists with instruction. Completes additional duties as assigned.
