Position Overview NextStep Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Media Specialist/ Media Specialist III to support daily Technical Library operations in Norfolk, VA. This position provides senior-level support to the First Line Supervisor and may serve as the onsite supervisor during brief periods of the supervisor's absence. The successful candidate will support customer requests, work-package preparation, technical-data retrieval, data management, and library operations, including shipboard scanning and inventory activities. Key Responsibilities Provide direct support to the First Line Supervisor in managing daily Technical Library operations. Serve as the onsite supervisor during short periods of the First Line Supervisor's absence, as required. Respond to Technical Library customer requests accurately and promptly. Assist with work-package preparation and retrieval of technical drawings, manuals, and other technical data. Perform and oversee data management, scanning, cataloging, and library-support activities. Operate Technical Library printers and scanners and use paper and electronic storage systems. Train new Media Specialists on library procedures, equipment, and systems. Support shipboard scanning, inventory, cataloging, and organization activities.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least five years of experience working in the Military Sealift Command (MSC) Technical Library or a similar technical library. Training in responding to customer service requests and at least two years of experience handling such requests. At least two years of experience working with NAVSEA drawings, or similar technical drawings, and technical manual numbering processes. Ability to operate all Technical Library printers and scanners. Comprehensive knowledge of library paper and electronic storage systems. Ability to train new Media Specialists. Prior experience leading at least two shipboard scanning/inventory trips . At least three years of experience using
SAMM VTL
applications or a similar data management system.

security clearance. Travel Requirements This position involves shipboard travel to support Technical Library scanning, inventory, cataloging, and organization activities. Candidates must meet the required experience of having led at least two shipboard scanning/inventory trips.
