Job Title:
Library Entry Associate Job Description Join our team as a Library Entry Associate, where you will play a vital role in the organization and management of our new library space. You will assist with shelving, sorting, and re-cataloging items while providing excellent customer service to patrons. Responsibilities Shelve, sort, and re-catalog items in the new location according to classification systems. Assist in the setup of the new library space, including shelving, signage, and material arrangement. Ensure materials are transported safely and securely. Provide customer service by assisting patrons with locating materials and answering basic inquiries during the transition. Update or verify records in the library system to reflect current item locations. Assist with weeding, organizing, and consolidating collections as needed. Collaborate with library staff and movers to ensure timelines and processes are followed. Essential Skills 2 years of administrative experience Ability to pass a library shelving test Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in administrative support, administrative assistance, data entry, and clerical tasks Work Environment Work in a brand-new library where you will be actively involved in moving books into shelves and organizing materials. This is a quick contract opportunity with the potential to apply for openings on the city website for further career advancement.. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Suffolk, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
