Job Description
Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries is seeking applicants from the Stevenson area for on call substitute Public Services Assistant positions at the Stevenson Community Library. Candidates must be able to work at least three (3) shifts per month. Evening and Sunday availability is preferred. This is a great opportunity for people who have a passion for working with the public and want to make a positive impact in their communities. A typical day for a Public Services Assistant includes: Assisting customers with questions about library services and technology Creating or updating customer accounts Shelving materials Checking materials in and out May go out on bookmobile runs The ideal candidate will be flexible and have strong customer service skills and great attention to detail. This position frequently requires these physical abilities: Lift up to 35 pounds Push and pull book carts and book return bins on wheels Bend, kneel, and reach to shelve books Stand for extended periods of time Please see the attached position description for a more detailed list of job duties and requirements. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Six months of working with the public in a customer service setting (such as working in a retail store) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this job is $20.21 - $28.55 per hour. Offers to new employees with 6 months of customer service experience are expected to be at $20.21 per hour. Substitute employees receive one hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
