Position Information Posting Number 20150998P Job Posting Date 05/12/2026 Initial Review Date 06/01/2026 Open Until Filled Yes Job Summary The Interim Library Services Specialist position is responsible for maintaining acquisitions, inter-library loans, and assisting with circulation management and copy cataloging in support of Sheridan College and its students, faculty, and staff. The Specialist position will assist the SC Director of Library Services with general library functions, including database management, academic support services, and supervision of student positions. In addition, this position will assist students, staff, and community with routine operation of library equipment, such as basic troubleshooting of computers, printers, scanners, and other equipment. This position requires time covering the circulation desk and test proctoring. This is an interim position that will run July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027. Reports To Director of Library Services Education/Qualifications Associate degree required Bachelor's degree preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Microsoft Word and Excel at intermediate level and comfort with learning new equipment and technology Commitment to positive customer service experiences Written and oral communication Work independently and with curiosity Work as a productive team member Preferred knowledge: SIRSI integrated library system WYLD organization Online research databases Common library practices and procedures, including interlibrary loan, library systems Familiarity with bibliographic records Experience with student/patron information as well as Learning Management Systems Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Frequent interruptions Ability to reach overhead, crouch and lift up to 35 pounds Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time Long periods of time working with computers Schedule could include a combination of days/nights and possible occasional weekend hours About Northern Wyoming Community College District NWCCD welcomes all learners, empowers student success, encourages and strengthens community development. Percentage of time 10 Responsibility/Duty Order, receive, and supply interlibrary loan material, including statistics and maintaining copyright compliance. Percentage of time 20 Responsibility/Duty Manage circulation functions including the checkout and discharge of materials, patron registration, library card issue, place holds, shelve materials, and maintain patron records. Percentage of time 15 Responsibility/Duty Cataloging and processing new items and maintaining ILS records according to industry standards. Maintaining/repairing current collection and MARC Records Percentage of time 5 Responsibility/Duty Process and maintain serials. Percentage of time 15 Responsibility/Duty Assist library director with circulation management including maintaining PERC lists, overdue reports, inventory, and data retrieval from BlueCloud and other systems Percentage of time 10 Responsibility/Duty Assist library patrons in directional, ready reference, including locating and using print and non-print resources. Percentage of time 10 Responsibility/Duty Assist library patrons with utilization of library equipment including computers, printers, scanners. Assist students with basic computer tasks including using email, MS Word formatting, MS Excel, and LMS Percentage of time 10 Responsibility/Duty Database management Percentage of time 5 Responsibility/Duty Assist with displays and activities to promote the library.
