Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic teaching environment and inspire secondary students with your passion for math and music! This is an exciting contract role based in the vibrant community near Kasilof, AK. As a secondary math educator, you'll share your expertise between two welcoming schools, engaging with students at both Kenai Central High School and Soldotna Montessori Charter School. In addition to math instruction, you'll also have the opportunity to nurture creativity as a music teacher, leading choir, general music, and some band classes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Valid teaching certification in secondary education or eligibility to obtain certification in Alaska Solid background in general education, with expertise in secondary-level math instruction Experience or strong interest in teaching music, including choir and/or band Ability to adapt lessons for diverse age groups and learning abilities Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative teaching Previous classroom teaching or relevant field experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging secondary math lessons aligned with curriculum standards Teach music classes encompassing choir, general music, and some band sections Collaborate with colleagues at both locations to support student learning and school activities Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment where all students can thrive Participate in staff meetings, parent communications, and ongoing professional development This shared position offers a unique chance to make an impact both academically and creatively across two schools.
