•Competitive, prorated compensation for the remainder of the school year ReThink Microschools - Gilbert, Arizona ReThink Microschools is seeking an engaging and student-centered Interim Math Teacher to join our small private school community for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year. ReThink serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder who thrive in a smaller, structured learning environment. With no more than eight students per class , our teachers have the opportunity to know each student individually, provide meaningful academic support, and help students build confidence and independence. This is a full-time, fixed-term teaching position for an educator who enjoys working with small groups of students and wants to make a meaningful impact without the demands of a traditional large classroom. Position Overview The Interim Math Teacher will support students across middle and high school mathematics in a highly personalized learning environment. Students work at varying academic levels, allowing the teacher to provide targeted instruction, tutoring, intervention, and enrichment based on individual needs. The teacher will facilitate mathematics instruction using the school's digital learning platforms, including ALEKS , while providing direct support, small-group instruction, and individualized assistance as needed. Because classes are intentionally small, the teacher is expected to build strong relationships with students, monitor academic progress closely, and create a calm, structured classroom environment. Key ResponsibilitiesMathematics Instruction Facilitate mathematics instruction for middle and high school students. Support students working within the ALEKS mathematics platform and other assigned curriculum resources. Provide individual and small-group instruction when students need additional explanation or support. Assist students in mathematics courses ranging from foundational mathematics through upper-level high school coursework. Support advanced students, including students completing higher-level mathematics courses. Identify learning gaps and provide targeted intervention. Help students develop mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and confidence. Monitor student progress and adjust support based on individual performance. Student Support Work effectively with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder who require Level 1 supports. Maintain predictable classroom routines and clear expectations. Break complex assignments into manageable steps when appropriate. Support students in developing organization, time-management, and independent-learning skills. Encourage students to advocate for themselves and become increasingly responsible for their learning. Build positive, respectful relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Classroom Environment Maintain a calm, structured, academically focused classroom. Supervise students actively and consistently. Establish clear classroom expectations and routines. Encourage student participation while recognizing individual communication and learning styles. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, progress information, and other required student records. School Community Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to support student success. Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress when appropriate. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities. Assist with student clubs, electives, enrichment activities, or other campus responsibilities as assigned. Contribute positively to ReThink's small-school culture and community. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Strong knowledge of mathematics. Ability to support students across multiple mathematics levels. Strong classroom-management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative school environment. Ability to maintain patience, consistency, structure, and high academic expectations. Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one. Preferred Arizona teaching certification. Mathematics teaching experience. Experience teaching middle or high school students. Experience working with autistic students or students who learn differently. Experience with ALEKS or other adaptive mathematics platforms. Special education experience or training. The ReThink Difference Teaching at ReThink looks different from teaching in a traditional school. Our classrooms are intentionally small, with a maximum of eight students , allowing teachers to spend less time managing large groups and more time helping students learn.
