THE OPPORTUNITY
(POSITION
OVERVIEW
) Reporting to the Director and Leadership Resident, the Interventionist Instructor is responsible for supporting learner outcomes for identified at promise learners. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to learners who are struggling to meet grade level content standards, develops materials and lesson plans, and evaluates and assesses learner performance. The interventionist will also meet with learners/families and educational facilitators, interpret progress, and inform pertinent parties about learner strengths, weaknesses, and progress. The focus of the intervention specialist is to develop a learner-centered intervention system that effectively works to close the achievement gap in mathematics. The goal of the intervention specialist is to ensure that learners are able to master grade level standards and curriculum.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
(DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
) Support staff and perform duties as assigned and outlined by the directors. Respond to all emails and communication within 24 hours during the school week. Provides high quality mathematics instruction to learners identified as eligible for math services in individual or small groups. Provide instruction through an on-line platform effectively; provide in-person instruction/workshops, as needed. Gather, compile, and disaggregate data; link data to learning and instruction. Use data to provide differentiated instruction to learners and to bring their math skills to grade-level. Create lesson plans and resources for one-on-one instruction or small group instruction. Collaborate with educational facilitators, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of learners. Use identified research-based interventions that focus specifically on individual learner needs. Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of learner performance and progress. Provide data to school teams and participates in decisions about learner progress. Communicate with educational facilitators, administration, and families regarding learner progress. Participate in meetings with educational facilitators, administration, and families to discuss learner placement and progress. Provide diagnostic assessments for learners as needed. Provide input for program development. Create and maintain a schedule of math intervention classes. Support the total school program by observing curricular and extracurricular learner activities. Follow up with learners that exit the interventionist program. Complete other duties as defined by the Director(s) of the program or other school leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicating with others to exchange information. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
