POSITION SUMMARY
Denver Christian High School Math Teachers are student-focused professionals who fulfill the mission of DCHS as a significant school-related influence on student learning. The High School Math Instructor provides comprehensive instruction in mathematics (such as Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology) while fostering academic excellence and spiritual growth. This role emphasizes the integration of biblical truth and Christian worldview into all course content, helping students recognize God's design in the natural world and mathematical principles. Teachers create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific literacy while mentoring students academically and spiritually. The position is supported through a shared vision of learning that cultivates a school culture of rigorous academics and faith development, empowering learners to impact the world for Christ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs and implements effective mathematics curriculum and instruction that develops conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, problem-solving skills, and scientific literacy. Teaches courses using a variety of research-based instructional strategies, inquiry-based learning, hands-on activities, and technology to deepen student understanding and accommodate diverse learning needs. Integrates biblical truth and Christian worldview into daily instruction, helping students recognize God's design and purpose in mathematics and the natural world. Develops and implements rigorous, standards-aligned assessments to monitor student learning and provide timely feedback that guides instructional decisions. Develops trusting, productive relationships with students to create a safe, engaging, and respectful learning environment where intellectual risk-taking and scientific inquiry are encouraged. Collaborates with the math team to ensure curriculum coherence, alignment with college preparatory standards, and consistency across course levels. Solicits feedback from students to self-reflect on teaching practice, set goals for improvement, and grow in the craft of teaching and content knowledge. Mentors students academically and spiritually through classroom instruction, formal and informal conversations, Life Groups, prayer, and co-curricular activities such as STEM clubs, math teams, or competitions. Facilitates inquiry-based laboratory experiences and field work that engage students in hands-on scientific investigation and mathematical application. Partners with parents through effective, consistent communication regarding student progress, academic performance, and support strategies. Serves as a collaborative, productive team member who participates in professional learning communities, department meetings, school events, and committee work that enhances student and faculty experiences. Engages in ongoing professional growth conversations with leadership and pursues professional development in instructional strategies, content knowledge, and educational technology. Models servant leadership, maintains a culture of academic excellence and respect, and demonstrates enthusiasm for the disciplines taught. All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
State teaching license or certification in mathematics or science. Bachelor's degree in mathematics, science, engineering, or a related field. Professing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with a demonstrated commitment to growing in personal relationship with Him. In agreement with the Denver Christian High School Statement of Faith and Christian worldview. Regularly attends and is actively involved in a church that affirms historic Christian orthodoxy (doctrine, faith, teaching, and practice). Strong content knowledge and demonstrated expertise in mathematics and/or science with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Knowledge of high school standards and college preparatory expectations for mathematics and/or science. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication for diverse audiences. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and maintain accuracy in documentation and data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in mathematics, science, education, or related field. Previous teaching experience in a high school or college preparatory setting. Experience integrating biblical worldview and Christian perspectives into mathematics and science instruction. Proficiency with educational technology, student information systems (SIS), and digital learning platforms. Experience designing and facilitating laboratory experiences, STEM projects, or field-based learning. Experience coaching math or science competitions or leading enrichment clubs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods during classroom instruction and school activities. Ability to speak and/or hear for effective communication with students, families, and staff. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (textbooks, laboratory equipment, materials). Visual ability to see and supervise students, read written materials, and view diagrams or laboratory work. May be exposed to chemicals or laboratory hazards as appropriate to science instruction; ability to follow safety protocols.
