This full-time, on-site contract opportunity provides the chance to work directly, one-on-one, with pediatric learners in a long-term setting. Open to travel candidates who are ready to bring their expertise and compassion to a welcoming educational environment near Smyrna, DE.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) is required State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience providing 1:1 instruction, preferably in a pediatric or school setting Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom experience
Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-on-one educational support for a student with visual impairment, adapting curriculum and materials as needed Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), documenting progress and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Cultivate a positive, accessible classroom environment that promotes learning and independence Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and school professionals to ensure cohesive student support Incorporate assistive technology and innovative teaching strategies to maximize student potential
