This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for mathematics, develop comprehensive lesson plans, and support students' academic growth. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of various mathematical disciplines to help students excel both academically and personally. Paid positions are available, including internships, with a focus on creating engaging and effective learning experiences. Duties Design and deliver engaging lessons covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations. Develop curriculum materials that align with educational standards and incorporate innovative learning technology tools. Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and class participation; provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and respect. Mentor students individually or in small groups through tutoring sessions or academic advising to reinforce concepts and boost confidence. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives to enhance educational quality. Incorporate scientific research methods and laboratory experiences when applicable to subjects like biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, or dissection activities. Engage in ongoing professional development related to higher education teaching techniques, special education needs, or Montessori methods as appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Experience is Key Proven classroom experience teaching high school mathematics with a strong record of student engagement and success. Expertise in core mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations. Familiarity with learning technology platforms and instructional design for diverse learners. Experience working with students of varying abilities, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral management strategies. Strong communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, and collaboration with staff and parents. Laboratory experience or research laboratory experience in scientific subjects such as biochemistry or microbiology is advantageous. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and curriculum development best practices. Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that promotes curiosity and critical thinking.
