In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons that foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, from foundational algebra to advanced calculus and geometry. Your expertise will help students develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a love for mathematics. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating instructional design principles and learning technology tools. Teach a broad range of mathematical topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and molecular biology as applicable. Develop assessments for standardized testing preparation and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, quizzes, and exams. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and respectful communication among students. Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques to ensure a positive learning atmosphere. Mentor students individually or in groups, providing academic advising and tutoring to support diverse learning needs, including special education students. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and research initiatives to enhance educational quality. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees or higher education teaching experience preferred. Proven classroom experience with strong classroom management skills and the ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities. Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical disciplines such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry (if applicable), biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, and scientific research methods. Familiarity with instructional technology tools and learning management systems to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts and provide constructive feedback. Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading educational materials, and designing assessments for standardized testing. Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including those in special education or private school settings; experience with Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus. Strong organizational skills with experience in research laboratory settings or research environments is advantageous.
