Job Description

Job description: Somerset Academy Wellington, a K-12 tuition-free public charter school, is seeking a full-time High School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are currently expanding our student body and are searching for dedicated educators with valid Florida Teaching Certifications who are passionate about student achievement and academic excellence. The ideal candidate will teach Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical proficiency. The teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and administration to support students' academic and personal growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Florida State Standards and school curriculum. Teach Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 courses to high school students. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Utilize data-driven instructional practices to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and academic concerns. Create and maintain a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment. Prepare students for state assessments and end-of-course exams. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school events. Collaborate with fellow teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success. Implement classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and accountability.
