SOAR Academy Augusta is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Intervention Specialist to provide targeted 1-on-1 and small-group tutoring. In this role, you will help our students bridge learning gaps, master core concepts, and build academic confidence up through the 8th-grade level in math and literacy. Our campus specializes in supporting neurodiverse learners (including students with Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Level 1). We emphasize multi-sensory, hands-on learning strategies over traditional lectures. Key Responsibilities Deliver targeted 1-on-1 and small-group tutoring in reading, writing, and foundational math (up to 8th-grade level). Implement evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional strategies (visual, tactile, kinetic) tailored to individual learning styles. Monitor student progress, adapt support to meet students where they are, and build academic confidence. Maintain positive classroom management and foster a encouraging, growth-oriented environment. Collaborate briefly with lead guides and parents to align on learning goals.
Qualifications & Skills Subject Mastery:
Strong content knowledge in K-8th grade mathematics (through Pre-Algebra) and literacy/reading comprehension.
Experience:
Background in tutoring, classroom teaching, reading intervention, or special education preferred.
Specialized Knowledge:
Familiarity with neurodiverse learning profiles (Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism) and multi-sensory teaching tools is highly valued.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Math, English, or a related field preferred (Georgia teaching certification is not required for the right candidate).
Personality:
