Job Description

Overview We are looking for a Facilitator to support after-school instruction by assisting education staff, guiding small groups of students, and providing academic and logistical support. This role focuses on mentoring students, reinforcing math and science learning, and helping ensure engaging, well-organized educational experiences. Responsibilities
  • Mentor and guide students during after-school programs, fostering academic growth and engagement in math and science;
  • Support the delivery of after-school curriculum by assisting with lessons, hands-on activities, and classroom management;
  • Assist the Education Specialist in delivering instruction by supporting students, facilitating small-group activities, and maintaining instructional materials;
  • Serve as a classroom and field-based facilitator, guiding small groups of students through educational activities and supporting hands-on experiments and program logistics; Communicate regularly with teachers, program staff, and families as appropriate, including tracking student progress and supporting goal-setting. Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, Hawaiian Culture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, to effectively support math and science instruction and student learning;
  • Experience supporting or providing instruction in Mathematics and/or Science at the intermediate and pre-algebra level, including mentoring students and facilitating small-group learning activities;
  • Ability to support and facilitate creative, engaging, project-based learning activities aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, integrating math, science, Hawaiian culture, and language arts;
  • Familiarity with applied mathematics instruction through the algebra level to reinforce after-school curriculum and support student academic growth;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows and Apple operating systems, including iOS, to assist with instructional materials, communication, and program documentation;
  • Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily injury liability per person and $25K in property damage liability.
