2026–2027 Woodside Middle School is seeking an 8th Grade Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers the benefit of a 4-day student week, providing additional time for planning, collaboration, and work-life balance while working in a supportive middle school environment. Woodside is committed to building strong relationships with students and maintaining a positive school culture. We are looking for educators who believe in strong instructional practices, classroom management, and student accountability while using restorative practices to support student growth and repair relationships. Our staff works collaboratively to ensure students feel supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide engaging instruction aligned with Iowa Core Math Standards Develop lessons that promote problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and critical thinking Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of middle school learners Establish a structured and supportive classroom environment Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies rooted in restorative practices Collaborate with grade-level and content teams and participate in professional learning Use student data and formative assessments to inform instruction and support student growth Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff

Qualifications:

Valid Iowa teaching license 5-8 Middle School Math endorsement or K-8 with Math endorsement or 5-12 Mathematics endorsement Strong instructional and classroom management skills Commitment to relationship-building and restorative practices Ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive school culture
