Until Filled Job summary: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks, working directly and indirectly with students. These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
Under the supervision of the Title One Lead Teacher, Instructional Assistant, and School Principal Provide Instructional and SEL Interventions to individuals and small groups Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills, e.g., math, science, English, color recognition, decision making, self-esteem building, etc. Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems, e.g., separate math skill worksheet, not a part of teacher's curriculum. Enter notes on both academic and SEL interventions as directed Participate in ongoing staff development Basic knowledge of iPads, Chromebooks, and Google Suite Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books. Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee; which may include covering lunch and recess on an emergency basis.
Minimum qualifications include:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrate ability to work with students. Computer and word processing experience helpful. Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have: Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota's standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR An Associate's (or higher) degree; Minnesota's standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment. Must be highly qualified (HQ) within 30 days from the date of employment https://education.mn.gov/MDE/dse/Para/ District will pay for the exam and up to 10 hours of prep and exam time.
