Job Description

Vincennes University (VU) is seeking qualified high school educators to serve as Project EXCEL Dual Credit Instructors . This is an evergreen posting intended for current high school teachers who wish to facilitate VU courses within their respective high schools and/or career centers. Project EXCEL instructors are responsible for delivering VU curriculum and maintaining post-secondary rigor while teaching at a partner high school/career center location. This role serves as a bridge between secondary and higher education, allowing students to earn college credit concurrently with their high school diploma. This is a face-to-face instructional position located at approved partner sites. It is not a virtual position. This posting is for the purpose of credentialing instructors for dual credit partnerships. Applicants are encouraged to consult with their high school administration and the VU Project EXCEL office prior to application to ensure a dual credit agreement is in place for their specific discipline.
Primary Responsibilities & Academic Fidelity Curriculum Delivery:
Teach college course content in accordance with VU's syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment standards.
Liaison Collaboration:
Work in partnership with a VU Faculty Liaison. This includes participating in curriculum orientations, site visits, and ensuring that assessments remain equivalent to on-campus VU courses.
Administrative Management:
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades; verify rosters and submit final grades in a timely manner via the University faculty portal; and perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Project EXCEL office or academic department.
Professional Development:
Engage in mandatory discipline-specific professional development as required by NACEP standards and VU departmental policies.
Student Guidance:
Assist students in understanding the expectations of a university-level course and the enrollment process.
Dual Role & Employment Status Primary Employment:
Applicants must be currently employed by a K-12 school corporation or career center that maintains an active partnership with VU Project EXCEL.
Adjunct Status:
While serving in this role, the instructor is appointed as a VU Dual Credit Instructor. This role is specifically for the instruction of VU dual credit course sections within the instructor's home high school/career center.
Dual Accountability:
Instructors remain accountable to their K-12 administration for secondary duties while simultaneously being accountable to the VU Dual Credit and Academic Department for the integrity and delivery of the college course(s). To begin the application process, interested applicants must submit the following: VU application Current and detailed resume/cv Copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts (official transcripts will be required upon approval) All applicable licensures/certifications (i.e. industry/occupational-related) Generally, application materials should be received by March 1 for Fall semester approval, or October 1 for Spring semester approval. Once approved by the department, the instructor will be required to complete two orientation sessions.
