Job Description

Would you enjoy teaching students who need another chance? Smoky Hill Education Service Center is seeking a Math Teacher for the FY26-27 school year, for its program at Lawrence-Gardner High School (LGHS) in Topeka. The ideal candidate we are looking for this position is a highly effective teacher, holding a Kansas teaching license. LGHS, a Kansas-accredited high school on the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex (KJCC) campus, is in Topeka, Kansas. Teachers and staff work with students from across Kansas who are temporary residents of KJCC to earn a high school diploma or their GED. Our professional staff works diligently to provide our youth with the best educational opportunities, while paying attention to their SECD (Social Emotional Character Development) skills. In addition, we offer students the opportunity to earn certifications through Washburn Institute of Technology. Why LGHS?
