Organization Information Mayfield Independent offers a comprehensive curriculum in grades K-12. We serve approximately 1,899 students on three campuses: the elementary school, including Head Start/Preschool and grades K-4; middle school, grades 5-8; and high school, grades 9-12. We are served by Kentucky Tech, the Alternative Education Center and Gateway Academy Alternative High School. Family Resource Centers and Migrant Education work with all schools to reduce barriers to learning. Special education teachers serve students in 16 resource/collaborative settings and a self-contained classroom. Gifted and talented services are provided for grades K-12. A student to teacher ratio of 15:1 and 100% of classes taught by teachers in their field prepares students for a productive adult life. Eighty one percent of the graduating class enrolled in some type of post-secondary education. Over the past five years, graduates have averaged $2,898,522 in scholarships.
