Job Description

Organization Details Organization Information Letcher County Public Schools has approximately 3000 students in preschool through through grade 12 in one high school, 3 middle schools, 2 K-8 schools, and 3 elementary schools. The mission of the district, in partnership with the family, students, and community, is to provide our students with every opportunity that will allow them to be successful. We maintain a culture of success in our district by blending a rigorous curriculum and high expectations with positive teacher and student relationships while engaging community support. In an effort to fulfill our mission, our district and schools implement new initiatives to help ensure that our students receive an education that prepares them for the 21st century. In addition to the traditional school settings, several programs are offered at the area technology center, a day treatment center, an alternative school, and an adult education center. Letcher County Central High School is accredited by the state of Kentucky and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Our district stresses the importance of college and career readiness for our students by providing AP and Dual Credit Courses, virtual courses, and a variety of vocational certifications in conjunction with the Letcher County Area Technology Center.
