Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Rashi School, Greater Boston's Reform Jewish Independent School, serving students in grades Pre-K-8 seeks an Early Literacy Interventionist (Pre-K-Grade 2) for the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to the Dean of Learning Support, the Early Literacy Interventionist will join a high functioning Learning Team who work with classroom teachers to support and challenge all learners. Rashi's Lower School uses a collaborative teaching model to promote students' academic, social, and emotional growth by nurturing an environment that promotes risk taking, flexibility, adaptability, empathy, and resilience through collaborative teaching which models behaviors of the adults. We seek to employ faculty and staff with diverse backgrounds who model these traits and our core values for our students and are eager to support Rashi in fulfilling its mission.RESPONSIBLITIES
Deliver specialized tutoring in one-to-one and small group sessions for students identified as at risk Conduct assessments of student literacy skills, including phonological awareness, letter knowledge, concepts about print, and comprehension strategies Implement "best practices" instructional methods, specifically utilizing Fundations, Heggerty, and other evidence based literacy programs Collaborate with other members of the Learning Team and the Humanities Department Chair to align interventions with school-wide literacy goals Assist classroom teachers in providing differentiated small-group instruction tailored to specific student learning needs Provide targeted instruction in auditory discrimination, rhyming, word/syllable segmentation, and the application of decoding and encoding strategies Maintain accurate data and records on student progress and academic benchmarks to monitor the effectiveness of interventions Communicate regularly with families about student progress Share progress data with the grade level team and members of the Learning Team Attend weekly grade-level team meetings and faculty meetings on Wednesdays after school Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Heads of SchoolPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Bachelor's Degree Prior experience working with elementary school aged children Working knowledge of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curricula (preferred)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
