Job Description
This position posting runs on a continuous open cycle and creates a pool of candidates for consideration when a part time, substitute instructor position is available. Applicants are reviewed when they apply and hiring supervisors are notified of all qualified applicants. Applicants are notified if they have been selected to complete a hire process only if a job is available to be filled for class instruction in the Pre-College Programs Department . Maylands Pre-College Programs offer a variety of instruction in: High School Equivalency Life Skills ESL Correctional Education Adult Literacy Substitute Instructors are responsible for assisting adults with building academic skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and math to facilitate success in the workplace and the community. Follow pre-planned lessons to create a positive learning experience for students Work cooperatively with teachers and coordinators to maintain the role of the teacher when substituting in a classroom. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment Promote a favorable image and positive attitude. All Pre-College Programs instructional positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Applicants will need to submit a copy of their transcript(s) to be placed in a position.
