POSITION TITLE
Alternative High School Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid New Hampshire teaching certification or Statement of Eligibility
JOB GOAL
To collaborate with colleagues and provide classroom instruction to students enrolled at King Street School, is an alternative education program that serves youth in grades 9-12.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides supervision of students in an alternative education setting
  • Participate as a team member to design an integrated program that includes curriculum, academics, electives, vocational courses
  • Familiarity with New Hampshire Performance Assessment and Competency Education
  • Develop lessons and implement lessons in small groups
  • Plans daily classroom instructional activities
  • Utilizing differentiated instructional techniques to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of all students.
  • Ability to manage and address student's social and behavioral needs
  • Maintain student records and files in a confidential manner
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and ethics
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Be flexible
  • Actively listens, builds trust and confidence with students.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Experience with behavior intervention/management
  • Background in teaching English a plus.
