Cover key topics like whole numbers, fractions/decimals, ratios/rates/percent, pre-algebra (expressions, equations, algebraic manipulation), geometry readiness, data analysis, exponents/scientific notation, and linear equations — all tied to real-world American innovation (e.g., mapping pioneer expeditions or analyzing inventor statistics). Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy — explicit, multisensory phonics progressing through the 72 phonograms and 44 English spelling rules (e.g., Silent Final E jobs, Floss Rule, 1-1-1 doubling, dropping Silent E), decoding unmarked multisyllabic text (using the ASA decoding marking system), handwriting (manuscript to cursive transition), and spelling tied to patriotic vocabulary (liberty, republic, pioneer, self-reliance, Constitution). U.S. History & Civics — primary-source focus on America's founding documents (Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Federalist Papers, Bill of Rights), heroic figures (Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lewis & Clark), pioneers/explorers/inventors (Fall theme), and principles of liberty, justice, self-government, and civic duty — avoiding revisionism while celebrating exceptionalism and triumphs.
