Job Description
Duties Description Instruct a course(s) recognized by the New York State Education Department. Prepare or modify curriculum and course outlines. Prepare daily or weekly lesson plans and conduct a schedule of formal instruction for residents of an Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facility. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview. Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer. Each Level:
For Teacher 2: Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty. For Teacher 3: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty. For Teacher 4: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty. This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Additional Comments Full time and Part-time positions are available at a pro-rated salary.- The part-time hours needed for this position are determined to be 50% 20 hours per week, M-F 6am-6pm.
Preferred Specialties:
Math (7-12).- Certification MUST be at the 7-12 grade level.
Starting Salary:
(Teacher 2) / SG- 13 / $50,844 (Teacher 3) / SG
