Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Statistics Job Summary:
The Department of Statistics & Applied Technology in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a one-year, 9-month, visiting assistant professor position in statistics, with the possibility of extending the appointment for an additional 1-2 years by mutual agreement. We seek a talented individual who is passionate about teaching introductory undergraduate statistics courses and invested in student success. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, we invite you to apply for a one-year, visiting position to begin August 18, 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. A master's degree in Statistics or a related discipline is required. Candidates with doctoral degrees or experience teaching Statistics at the university level are encouraged to apply. Appointment rank will be commensurate with degree. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive pedagogical strategies that engage today's students in both the classroom, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Job Description :
The successful candidate will teach introductory statistics courses for a broad range of majors including business, biology, criminal justice, exercise physiology, and nursing majors. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 23-25 credit hours per year. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students and service.
