About Us OHDELA (Ohio Distance and Electronic Learning Academy) is a tuition-free, K-12 online school dedicated to transforming education through a state-of-the-art virtual experience. We offer a flexible, standards-aligned curriculum delivered by highly qualified teachers, providing 24/7 access to learning. As a premier online academy, we tailor our instruction to meet the unique needs of every student—from advanced learners to those seeking a safe, bully-free environment. The Math Coach supports the improvement of mathematics instruction and student achievement by working closely with teachers, school leaders, and instructional staff. This role focuses on building teacher capacity, implementing evidence-based instructional practices, and aligning instruction with Ohio's Learning Standards, particularly within schools identified for improvement under the School Improvement Grant (SIG) framework. Please note
  • while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.
Eligibility:
Open to residents of Ohio About the Opportunity Instructional Coaching & Support Provide job-embedded coaching to math teachers (modeling lessons, co-teaching, observation, and feedback). Support teachers in implementing research-based instructional strategies in mathematics. Assist with lesson planning, differentiation, and data-driven instruction. Data Analysis & School Improvement Analyze math student achievement data to identify gaps and inform instruction. Collaborate with school leadership to support goals and action plans. Monitor progress toward improvement targets and adjust strategies accordingly. Professional Development Design and deliver professional learning aligned to math standards, curriculum, and assessment. Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on mathematics instruction. Support new and struggling teachers with targeted coaching cycles. Curriculum & Assessment Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessments with Ohio's Learning Standards for Mathematics. Assist in selecting and implementing high-quality instructional materials. Support formative and summative assessment practices. Collaboration & Leadership Work collaboratively with administrators, instructional coaches, and district staff. Serve as a resource for best practices in math instruction and intervention. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations for all students. About You Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience in mathematics preferred. Demonstrated record of improving student achievement. Licensure Requirements (Ohio) Must hold a valid Ohio teaching license appropriate to grade level and subject area (e.g., Middle Childhood 4-9 Mathematics, Adolescent to Young Adult 7-12 Mathematics, or equivalent). In alignment with School Improvement Grant (SIG) expectations, candidates should: Be highly qualified in mathematics under Ohio standards. Demonstrate expertise in instructional practices and content knowledge. Preferred Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards for Mathematics. Expertise in instructional planning. Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build trust and support adult learners. Experience working in school improvement or turnaround settings (highly preferred). Working Conditions This position may require extended hours for coaching cycles, professional development, and data meetings. Travel between classrooms or school sites may be required.

The compensation and benefits information below is accurate as of the date of this posting. The Company reserves the right to modify this information at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law. The annual starting salary for this position is between $43,000
  • $51,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Life benefits
