Full Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a Full-Time Math Teacher for Whitmer Middle School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching Math to 8th Grade students, be able to create engaging lesson plans, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Teach Math to high school students Create lesson plans and instructional materials Assess student progress and provide feedback Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress Participate in school events and activities Collaborate with other teachers and staff to improve student performance
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Math or a related field Teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the state of Ohio Experience teaching Spanish to high school students preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials Knowledge of current teaching methods and best practices Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members Commitment to student success and academic excellence. Essential Functions Guide the learning process toward the achievement of the Ohio Learning Standards established for the subject and grade level assigned to the educator. Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for lessons, units, and courses ensuring alignment with state and local goals. Implement a variety of instructional strategies to address the individual learning styles, needs, interests and abilities of all students. Assess student progress through a variety formative and summative assessments. Use assessment data to determine progress of students toward achieving learning goals. Modify and adjust instruction as needed to maximize achievement for all students, including those with individual Education Programs (IEP's). WEP's, ELL, and 504 Plans. Seek the assistance of and collaborate with district specialists, such as special education staff, counselors, the social worker, psychologists, and others, to meet the needs of students. Create a classroom climate that is conducive to learning and encourages student engagement. Maintain a safe and secure environment that embodies trust, mutual respect and community responsiveness.
