- June 01, 2026 Second-Teach Facilitator The position of a Second-Teach Facilitator will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year.

PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Second-Teach Facilitator is a highly skilled instructional leader who supports double-blocked math and reading classes by supporting the second instructional period each day. Second Teach is designed to close foundational skill gaps for students who need additional support while simultaneously providing extension and enrichment activities for on-level learners. The Second-Teach Facilitator works collaboratively with all math and reading classroom teachers, uses data to drive daily decisions, and occasionally leads targeted small-group instruction directly with students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Partner with math and reading teachers to align second-teach instruction with core content, pacing, and instructional goals Co-plan and support the implementation of intervention and extension lessons that are purposeful and standards-aligned Model and support best practices in active monitoring, flexible grouping, and differentiated instruction Serve as a resource for teachers in planning for both intervention and extension within the same instructional block Analyze student data (assessments, exit tickets, classwork, and progress monitoring) to identify skill gaps and inform instructional priorities Use data to develop and adjust flexible small groups on an ongoing basis Design and support extension opportunities for students who have demonstrated mastery Maintain organized records of student progress, interventions, and instructional adjustments Communicate data-driven insights and instructional recommendations to teachers and school leadership on a regular basis Circulate purposefully during instruction to monitor student engagement, check for understanding, and provide real-time feedback to both students and teachers Support teachers in developing effective systems for monitoring student progress during independent and small-group work Provide targeted small-group instruction and deliver explicit, structured interventions aligned to foundational math and reading skills Build strong relationships with students to support engagement, motivation, and academic growth Provide consistent, actionable feedback that helps students understand their progress and next steps Participate in instructional planning meetings, PLCs, and data reviews Communicate and uphold high expectations for both staff and student performance Perform other duties as assigned
NOTE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Reading, or a related field preferred Valid Texas Teacher Certificate required Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience in math and/or reading
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Prior teaching and administrative experience Demonstrated ability to use student data to inform instructional decisions and group students effectively Experience planning and delivering differentiated instruction across a range of skill levels Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a team of teachers Experience using structured literacy and research-based math intervention strategies to close skill gaps while maintaining access to grade-level instruction

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Work inside may work outside; regular exposure to noise. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards.
