POSITION SUMMARY
Nazareth Prep seeks a passionate and student-centered educator to serve as a Social Studies for grades 9-12. The successful candidate will create engaging learning experiences that challenge students academically while supporting their personal growth and development. The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction, monitoring student progress, maintaining a positive classroom environment, communicating effectively with families, and contributing to the overall mission and culture of the school.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons that support diverse learners. Use varied strategies, differentiation, and technology to promote critical thinking and engagement. Assess student progress, use data to guide instruction, and maintain accurate records. Classroom Environment Create a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom with clear expectations. Build positive relationships that foster trust, accountability, and student growth. Student Support & Engagement Support students' academic and personal development. Collaborate on interventions, encourage resilience, and model school values. Communication & Collaboration Communicate regularly with families about student progress. Work with colleagues, staff, and community partners; participate in meetings and professional development. School Community Uphold and contribute to the school's mission and culture. Engage in school activities and fulfill additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION
Required Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related content area. Strong classroom management, organizational and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and support diverse learners. Proficiency in using technology for instruction Commitment to Nazareth Prep mission and values. Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and obtain required clearances (Act 33, Act 34, and FBI). Preferred Pennsylvania Secondary Teaching Certification in an appropriate content area. Master's Degree in Education or related field. 3-5 years of high school teaching experience; AP teaching experience a plus
