Job Description

Sylvan Learning Center Tutor / Teacher About Us At Sylvan Learning, we're focused on building confidence and helping students succeed academically and personally. We work with students of all ages in reading, writing, math, study skills, and test prep through personalized learning programs in a supportive, engaging environment. We are looking for positive, dependable, and motivated tutors/teachers who enjoy working with students and making learning encouraging and rewarding. Position Summary As a Sylvan Instructor, you will work directly with students in a small-group setting using Sylvan's structured curriculum and teaching methods. Our instructors create an engaging learning environment that helps students build skills, confidence, and motivation. This is an excellent opportunity for certified teachers, aspiring educators, college graduates, and professionals with strong academic backgrounds who enjoy mentoring and teaching students. Responsibilities Deliver engaging instruction using Sylvan programs and materials Create a positive and encouraging learning experience for students Build rapport with students and motivate them to stay focused and confident Track and evaluate student progress during each session Communicate student needs and progress with center staff Manage instructional time effectively in a small-group environment Maintain a safe, organized, and professional classroom setting Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development Support student success through encouragement, accountability, and consistency
Qualifications:
Reading & Writing Teachers Bachelor's degree required Teaching certification preferred (current or expired) Experience teaching reading, writing, phonics, or literacy skills preferred
Qualifications:
