East Lake Academy of Fine Arts is a 6-8 middle school located in Chattanooga, TN. We are a community school and offer a wide range of activities before and after school for our students including aquaponics and Tech Goes Home. We work on building capacity and preparing future leaders for promotion opportunities. We support our teachers through a new teacher mentor program with informal support and feedback. We have monthly opportunities for professional development including technology, classroom management, and curriculum planning. Our teachers enjoy stipends for extra planning before and after school and on weekends. We are looking for teachers who take initiative and who are coachable, flexible, student-focused, collaborative, and team players. Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families Create a well-managed, structured classroom environment Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection Link to full
Job Descriptions What We're Looking For:
Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Valid Tennessee teaching license in Mathematics 6-8, 6-12 Mathematics OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
Compensation & Additional Info:
