The teacher will create a positive classroom environment, develop students' mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and support academic growth through effective instruction and assessment. Key Responsibilities Teach Algebra I to 9th-grade high school students. Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional activities. Teach core Algebra I concepts including equations, inequalities, functions, polynomials, systems of equations, and data analysis. Use differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needs. Assess student understanding through assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and classroom activities. Monitor student progress and provide timely academic feedback and support. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, assessment records, and required documentation. Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and families to support student achievement. Integrate appropriate educational technology and digital resources into instruction. Participate in professional development, department meetings, and school activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a related field . Valid Tennessee (TN) Teaching License/Certification with appropriate Mathematics endorsement . Experience teaching Algebra I, high school mathematics, or secondary-level mathematics preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Knowledge of Algebra I curriculum and Tennessee mathematics standards. Ability to develop engaging lessons for diverse student populations. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching 9th-grade Algebra I . Previous experience working in a Tennessee high school or school district. Familiarity with Tennessee Academic Standards for Mathematics. Experience using learning management systems and digital mathematics tools.
